The Illinois football season starts on Saturday with an interesting matchup against the Wyoming Cowboys.

This matchup is interesting for multiple reasons. One reason is that the betting lines are set, but no one really knows what we are getting with either team. The Illini have a new quarterback and Wyoming is missing a lot of pieces on their defense, and they have a new quarterback as well.

Here are the game time, injury report, and betting tips for Illinois football vs Wyoming.

Illinois football vs Wyoming best bet – Illinois -11

I would say the best bet for any gambler this weekend is Illinois -11 against Wyoming. If this was a Josh Allen Wyoming crew, then it would be a different story. But the Cowboys are depleted.

Wyoming is missing five out of their top seven leaders in tackles, sacks, and interceptions from the 2021 campaign. They also have a new quarterback under center who hasn’t taken a snap with the team in live action.

On the flip side, Illinois has most of their players back. Yes, we do have a new quarterback, but he has a ton of experience at the power-five level. I expect quarterback Tommy DeVito to be an upgrade from what we had in 2021. Also, Illinois’ one-two punch of Chase Brown and Josh McCray at running back should have a field day.

Illinois football vs Wyoming rest of the best – Over 43.5 points & Illinois -450

I think Illinois is going to beat Wyoming on Saturday. The -450 seems to be a good bet as far as winning goes, but don’t expect too much back on your investment. A $100 bet on that would net you $22.22.

The over/under of 43.5 points is going to get you more money. I think you have to go over 43.5 points in this game. Wyoming’s defense is missing a lot of talent, and that will open up the Illinois offense to score at least in the 30s. In addition to that, Wyoming has played seven power-five programs since 2015, and they have given up an average of 38.3 points per game in those contests. I would pound the over 43.5 points.

Illinois football vs Wyoming getting frisky bet – One game parlay

Do you want to take a walk on the wild side? I believe Illinois has a chance to put up a lot of points against Wyoming.

A one-game parlay could be an interesting bet if you want to take a risk. I think you could bump the spread up to Illinois -18.5 and be okay. You then couple that with the leader at halftime and the end of the game being Illinois. The final bet of the three-leg same-game parlay would be total points. Bump up the total points to over 50.5 for the game.

If you put all three of these bets into a same-game parlay, which I believe could happen on Saturday, the bet would pay +500. So, a $100 bet would net you $500. Book it.
