4. Famah Toure – 7 out of 10

Illinois football is in the running for some top players in the country. Famah Toure is one of those players, and I believe we are right in the mix for his commitment.

Toure is a 6-foot-3, 195-pound wide receiver from Irvington High School and resides in Pleasantville, New Jersey. He is rated as a three-star recruit and ranked as the No. 982 player in the class of 2023. Toure is also the No. 137 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 16 player coming out of New Jersey.

Much like Saboor Karriem, Toure seems to be down to two teams vying for his commitment. It looks like this race is going to be between Rutgers and Illinois. The Illini got the first official visit from Toure on June 17 and the Scarlet Knights were next on June 21.

On top of the two official visits, it doesn’t appear that Toure will be taking any more visits this summer. There are also conflicting reports on when he will be making a commitment. Multiple outlets are reporting sometime around July 9, which has already passed. 247Sports has a commitment being made on July 22.

Rutgers does have some things going in their favor. Beyond the location factor, I believe Toure’s brother plays for the Scarlet Knights. This could be a determining element of his commitment.

At the end of the day, though, if Toure was dead set on Rutgers, he probably would have already committed to the program. The fact he hasn’t signals to me that Illinois is right in the mix for his commitment. In fact, I feel more confident for the Illini because he hasn’t made a commitment yet.
