No. 2 Guard

Starter: Luke Goode

Luke Goode is a player that many Illinois basketball fans have fallen in love with in the five games he has played this season. He has shown so much grit and intensity, and that is what this fanbase has been wanting for years.

Goode is also a tremendous player. There were many times throughout the Notre Dame game where I felt like Goode was plucked straight from the 1980s. He is super fundamental with his game plan. His passing is tremendous. He is also deadly with his three-point shot. Goode is currently averaging 3.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per game while hitting 40% from three-point range.

Backup: Sencire Harris

The backup No. 2 guard next season could be interesting. I think there is a solid shot that incoming freshman Sencire Harris could get the nod. He is a great shooting guard who is tremendously underrated. I was surprised Illinois was able to land a solid player from northeast Ohio. That never happens. I see Harris stepping in and playing 8-12 minutes per game from day one.

Harris is coming into the Illinois program as a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 106 player in the class of 2022. He is also the No. 14 shooting guard in the nation and the best player in the state of Ohio. The class of 2022 is going to be extremely important, and Harris is a major part of that group.
