The Illinois basketball team has managed to start the season 2-0 despite being extremely shorthanded.

With health starting to improve and their big man nearing a return, the Illini look to push ahead and knock off Marquette on Monday night. Here is some game and betting information.

Illinois vs. Marquette odds for Monday, November 15

Illinois is coming into the game as a decent favorite over Marquette. The Illini are -8.5 for the spread according to WynnBET, and that would pay -110. A $100 bet wins you $90.91, which would give you a net $190.91.

The moneyline is even bigger odds in favor of Illinois. If you take the Illini straight up, you would be getting -370 for the pick. If you win, you would only get $27.03 on a $100 bet, so a net of $127.03.

Las Vegas sees this game as a high-scoring affair. They have the over-under at 142.5 points for the game. If you bet the over, you get odds of -115. This would win you $86.96 and net you a total of $186.96. If you bet the under, you get -105 odds, which would win you $95.24 for a net of $195.24.

Illinois injury report vs. Marquette for Monday, November 15

To start the season, Illinois was missing a total of four players. Trent Frazier, Andre Curbelo, Austin Hutcherson, and Kofi Cockburn were all missing from the lineup. This team has gotten a little healthier since then.

For Monday night, Frazier and Curbelo are back and will be starting. Hutcherson isn’t back yet, but he is starting to get some light workouts in. Kofi is on his final game of the three-game suspensions handed down from the NCAA. So, Illinois will be without Hutcherson and Kofi for the Marquette game.

Illinois vs. Marquette prediction for Monday, November 15

Marquette has not started the 2021-22 campaign off well. While they are 2-0, they have struggled against two weaker opponents. Their latest win was over New Hampshire, 75-70.

With that being said, I would take Illinois -8.5. The Illini defense has been stout, and this will give them the edge. Illinois can go on droughts, but they have enough firepower to make this a double-digit win.

I took Illinois -8.5, so I am going to take the Illini on the moneyline as well. This doesn’t give me a ton of value unless I bet the savings account on it, so I would probably stay away from this line.

The over-under is 142.5, which comes out to roughly 71.25 points per team. Marquette struggled to put up 75 points against New Hampshire. With a great Illini defense, I would venture to say the Golden Eagles score fewer than 65 points. That means Illinois would have to be over 77 points to hit the over. We can go cold at times, so I am going to pound the under.

Make your pick now on WynnBET.
