Illinois Game Saturday: Illinois vs. Rutgers odds, prediction, injury report, schedule, live stream, and TV channel for week 9
I have yet to come down from the high of the Illinois football team beating No. 7 Penn State this past weekend.
But the show must go on. The Illini now head back to Champaign with an overall record of 3-5 and 2-3 in the Big Ten. Next up on the schedule is the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
Illinois vs. Rutgers odds for week 9
Despite taking down Penn State, the Illini are still not getting a ton of respect. The current WynnBET line for Saturday is Illinois +1.5 against Rutgers. This is going off at -110, so for a $100 bet, you cash $190.91.
At +1.5, it is nearly a pick’em game. If you want either team on the moneyline, you would get Rutgers at -125 and Illinois at +105. So, if you lay your $100 on Rutgers, it would pay $180. If you go Illinois, it would pay $205.
Finally, the over-under for the Illinois vs. Rutgers game is 43 points. This bet would be -110 either way, which would pay $190.91 on a $100 bet.
Illinois injury report vs. Rutgers for week 9
Heading into the Rutgers matchup, the Illini will be without quarterback, Art Sitkowski. He started the Penn State game, but I assume Brandon Peters will get the starting nod with Sitkowski out for the season.
Running back Chase Brown, who went out of the game with an injury in the Penn State game, will be cleared for the Rutgers game. Offensive tackle Vederian Lowe should be available Saturday as well.
Illinois vs. Rutgers prediction for week 9
When it come to the spread, I would go with Illinois +1.5. The Illini are coming off a big win, and the team seems rejuvenated. They are looking to still make a bowl game, so expect Illinois to come out strong on Saturday.
I would also take the Illini in the moneyline at +105. This is great value for an Illinois team that is hot right now. Even with Sitkowski out for the rest of the season, backup Brandon Peters is just as good of an option.
The over-under is more tricky. Illinois games have been under 40 points in the past five contests. The Illini defense has played well and their offense isn’t a high-scoring bunch. I would take the under 43 points on Saturday.
