With the NBA season on the horizon, Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu is taking advantage of every minute he receives in the preseason.

As a second round pick in the NBA Draft, it is hard to stick with an NBA franchise. Usually, NBA teams throw second round picks around like they are nothing. There are many more examples of NBA careers not taking off in the second round than there are players who have succeeded in the NBA coming out of the second round.

With that being said, and the odds not in favor of Ayo, the talented former Illini guard is thriving with the minutes he is receiving with the Bulls this preseason.

Game one against the Cleveland Cavaliers wasn’t a fluke. Ayo received 13 minutes and put up 8 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist, and 1 block. He was an efficient 4-of-9 from the field as well. This is the type of Ayo Illinois fans had for three years, and it is the player the Bulls will get to enjoy for years to come.

Ayo Dosunmu has continued his great play for the Chicago Bulls.

In his second game of the preseason, Ayo once again impressed. He would finish the game with 4 points, 1 rebound, and 1 block on 2-of-4 shooting from the field. Ayo managed to put up these solid numbers in just eight minutes of action. The Bulls would end up beating the New Orleans Pelicans.

And on Sunday, Ayo had arguably his best game in a Bulls jersey. He would end the night with 9 points and a rebound on 4-of-7 shooting from the field and 1-of-2 from three-point range. The Bulls only gave him seven minutes in the game to put up those numbers too.

On top of his good numbers, Ayo also had the go-ahead bucket with under a minute to go in the game. He would also have the shot that iced the game in the waning seconds. Chicago would win again, moving their record to 3-0 in the preseason.

So far during the preseason, Ayo is averaging 9.33 minutes per game. In the time he is on the floor, the talented guard is average seven points per game and is 10-of-20 from the field, which is 50%. An efficient guard coming off the bench is something every NBA team needs. The Bulls got a good one in Ayo.
