Illinois basketball is still trying to add to their class of 2022, and they moved one step closer to accomplishing this goal last Friday.

The 2022 class for the Illini is guard-heavy right now with three guards pledged. While the class is still ranked No. 4 in the nation and No. 2 in the Big Ten, the Orange and Blue are looking to strengthen the group by adding someone who can play the No. 3 or No. 4 spot on the floor. Brice Sensabaugh might be the recruit they are looking for.

Sensabaugh is a 6-foot-6, 240-pound small forward from Lake Highland Prep and resides in Orlando, Florida. He is rated as a three-star recruit and ranked as the No. 255 player in the class of 2022. He is also the No. 54 small forward in the nation and the No. 25 player coming out of Florida.

On Friday, Sensabaugh decided to narrow the scope of his recruitment. He ended up cutting his list down to just eight programs. The eight teams still vying for his commitment include Stanford, Indiana, Vanderbilt, Florida, Alabama, Virginia, Georgia Tech and Illinois.

Don’t let the national rankings fool you, Sensabaugh would be a good addition to the Illinois basketball team.

It is fun watching Sensabaugh play the game of basketball. He is a hustler, and I want hustlers on the Illinois basketball team.

I love Sensabaugh’s shot from the outside too. He can drop three-pointers from anywhere on the court. His touch is absolutely amazing. His ability to get to the rim and use his body is also a big bonus.

The player that comes to mind when I watch Sensabaugh play is someone like Draymond Green. I think he can make the hustle plays that Green makes. He can be physical like Green. But he could end up being a better shooter than Green.

The sky is the limit for Sensabaugh. Illinois making his top eight is fantastic for the program. I don’t think his No. 255 ranking does this kid justice. He is easily a top 125 recruit for 2022. Let’s snag a diamond in the rough.
