2021 NBA Draft workouts are in full swing, and Ayo Dosunmu is getting eyed by one local franchise.

There are numerous mock drafts out right now, and most of them have Ayo going in the late first round or early second round. The former Illini superstar will be the first player from the Orange and Blue to be selected since Meyers Leonard was picked in the 2012 NBA Draft.

The big question remains; who will pick Ayo? One option could end up being the Indiana Pacers. They are a team that has the potential to make deep playoff runs, and they are currently taking a look at Ayo as a potential piece to get them over the top.

On Tuesday, the Pacers posted on their Twitter page a list of six players who are getting a workout with the franchise on Wednesday. Among the list of six prospects is Ayo. He is getting a shot at impressing the Pacers scouts.

It might be difficult for the Pacers to take Ayo Dosunmu in the 2021 NBA Draft.

As of right now, it doesn’t look promising for the Pacers to pick Ayo. Their first round draft pick is at No. 13, which seems to be a little high unless Ayo is moving up draft boards, which I haven’t heard that news yet.

The next two picks for Indiana are at No. 24 and No. 30 in the second round. There seems to be a consensus that Ayo will be picked earlier than those two selections. But there is always an option of a trade.

In the NBA Draft, trades happen all of the time. I see the Pacers keeping pick No. 13, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see them package both of their second round picks to move up. Picks that late in the draft are usually just trade additives. Maybe if they package both of those picks to move up in the second round, then they might land Ayo.

If I had to guess, I would say Ayo goes somewhere in the bottom five picks of the first round or the top 10 picks in the second round. That is the sweet spot I see for the talented guard. July 29 cannot come soon enough.
