Milwaukee Bucks – 2nd round, pick No. 31

The final team I am including on the list of the top three teams best suited for Ayo Dosunmu is the Milwaukee Bucks. They are currently making a playoff run as the series with the Atlanta Hawks is now tied 1-1. Milwaukee would give Ayo a nice soft landing spot and a winning organization for years to come.

I believe the Bucks are going to be a competitive team as long as Giannis Antetokounmpo is around. He makes them viable and is signed for the next half-decade or so. So, they should be a good team for a while. That makes them an attractive destination for Ayo.

Ayo would come into the organization as a backup guard. He wouldn’t have to put up big numbers right away, which gives him more time to develop as a player. Ayo would have a chance to sit behind some talented guards like Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday. That is a duo that would be great to learn from early on in a career.

After a few years of learning behind those two, it might be time for Ayo to step into a more prominent role. Middleton and Holiday would both be in their early 30s by then. By year three, I could see Ayo being a guard who gets a few starts and plays somewhere between 15-22 minutes per game.

Some of the Bucks’ reserves, like Bryn Forbes, will have their contracts expire after the 2021-22 campaign. He is going to fetch more money than the Bucks can probably offer. This would leave more playing time open for Ayo in the near future.

I see Milwaukee being a great fit because of the talent Ayo can learn behind and the great competitive team that the Bucks will be over the next five or more years. This is a stable organization ready to win. Ayo is a winner as well. It seems like a good marriage.
