The Illinois basketball team upset the No. 7 ranked Iowa Hawkeyes on Friday night, as many Illini players had good performances.

Illinois pulled out the win over Iowa 80-75. The Orange Blue were hitting their shots and hustling on offense. Illinois also played good defense. Players needed to step up this game and they did just that. That’s why there are co-MVPs for this game.

The co-MVPs of the game go to Trent Frazier and Ayo Dosunmu.

Frazier had a great game. He scored 24 points to go along with 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. He shot 8-of-13 from the field and 4-of-9 from three-point range. He also went 4-of-4 from the charity stripe. Frazier showed great hustle and leadership in this game.

Dosunmu had a great game also. His stats for this game consisted of 25 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. Dosunmu’s shooting stats for this game were 11-of-18 from the field and 3-of-3 from three-point range. He recorded no defensive stats for this game, though, but he played excellent defense every minute he was on the court.

Other Guys such as Jacob Grandison and Andre Curbelo also had solid games. Both played important roles in this win. But Frazier and Dosunmu deserved the MVPs for this game. Both players performed admirably.

The Illini are now 11-5 overall and 7-3 in conference play. This was Illinois’ biggest win of the season so far. But they can’t celebrate this victory for too long as they face off against the Indiana Hoosiers Tuesday night. Hopefully, Illinois can continue to carry this winning momentum.
