4. A night of balanced scoring for the Illini

In the first observation, I mentioned how Kofi Cockburn dominated last night by leading the team with 18 points versus the Wildcats.

However, Cockburn didn’t do it all by himself, as the Fighting Illini got scoring from 10 of its players in the game, leaving only two players scoreless.  Those two players, however, only combined for a total of three minutes of playing time on the night.

Four Illini scored in the double digits in last night’s victory.  Cockburn led the way by scoring 18 points in the contest.  Junior guard Ayo Dosunmu would finish right behind Cockburn in the scoring category by racking up 15 points of his own, shooting 5-of-11 from the field and a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe.  Dosunmu would additionally record 6 assists and 5 rebounds in the win.

Guards Adam Miller and Trent Frazier would each score 14 points apiece in the contest.  Miller would get his 14 points by shooting 5-of-12 from the field and 4-of-11 from beyond the arc. Frazier shot 3-of-9 from the field and converted all five of his free-throw attempts.
