Illinois Basketball: Illini MVP in the win against Indiana

The Illinois basketball team got win No. 7 of the season as they beat the Indiana Hoosiers 69-60 on Saturday.

Illinois beat the Hoosiers in a hard-fought game. They had an off night when it came to shooting the ball, but the defense was good and made enough plays to get the win.

With many players struggling in the game, one player stepped up in a big way. That player is getting the MVP.

The MVP of this game goes to Ayo Dosunmu, who impressed a lot of people on Saturday.

Dousnmu had a great game. He ended the night with 30 points, 5 assists, and 2 rebounds. He shot well going 11-of-17 from the field and 4-of-5 from three-point range. All for of those three came down the stretch when Illinois needed them the most. He also shot 4-of-5 from the free throw line. On the other end of the court, Dosunmu was playing lockdown defense, even though the stats don’t show it.

Illinois struggled all night when it came to shooting, but Dosunmu knocked down some big shots that gave the Illini the momentum and the lead. He was easily the most consistent and best player out there on the floor against Indiana. That’s the reason Dosunmu got MVP for this game.

This was a big win. With this win, the Illinois basketball team improves to 7-3 overall and 3-1 in Big Ten play. Next up Dosunmu and the Illini will face off against the Purdue Boilermakers on January 2.
