2. OL Marcus Minor

It is exciting that Illinois has center Doug Kramer and tackle Alex Palczewski coming back in 2021. This will help the Illini offensive line tremendously.

Illinois does have some depth issues, and there is a big question mark on who is going to play the other tackle role in the starting lineup. One option that is now on the transfer market is Marcus Minor.

Minor was a four-star recruit coming out of DeMatha Catholic High School in 2017. He was ranked as the No. 220 player in his class and the No. 16 guard in the country. He was also the No. 5 player in the state of Maryland.

The talented offensive lineman was wanted by just about every big-time program in the country, but Minor decided to pick Maryland as his landing spot. He has been an impact player for the Terrapins since day one, too.

Minor had a start but was mainly a backup as a true freshman. He then transitioned into more of a starting role in 2018, as he suited up in four games and started in three of those contests. He did end up missing the final eight games that year due to injury.

In 2019, Minor came back strong as ever and started in 10 games for Maryland. He is now looking for a new home and with two years of eligibility remaining, the kid is going to have a ton of options.

Illinois would be a perfect fit for Minor. We are looking for a starting tackle, so he could come in from day one and start. With the majority of our offensive line leaving after 2021, Minor will easily be able to start the rest of his collegiate career at Illinois.
