Illinois Basketball: Projected Illini lineup with the dream class of 2021
The Illinois basketball team has a chance to land one of the best recruiting classes in recent memory.
During the Brad Underwood era, the Illini have improved their recruiting profile tenfold. Illinois went from landing okay players to landing top 50 recruits almost every season with Underwood.
Ayo Dosunmu kicked off the great recruiting trend. Kofi Cockburn continued the recruiting push. Adam Miller and Andre Curbelo are two top 50 players who will continue giving Illinois a good reputation for landing great players. And the Illini aren’t done yet. They still have the class of 2021 to finish up.
The class of 2021 only has one commitment right now and that is Luke Goode. He is a great guard out of Homestead High School in Indiana. The 6-foot-5, 175-pound sharpshooter will find his place on the team and be sensational.
But what other pieces will be joining Goode on the Illinois roster in 2021-22? This is the big question right now as Illinois looks to button up their recruiting efforts for 2021 and start focusing on the class of 2022. This team could be pretty special in 2021, though, as there are a handful of great players still left to be snagged.
If Illinois is able to land the players I have in mind, what is the lineup going to look like?
Here is the projected Illini lineup with the dream class of 2021.
