There is a new Crystal Ball prediction for the Illinois football class of 2021.

The commitment train has slowed down the past month or so for the Illinois football program, but it looks like the wheels could be starting to pick up some steam.

On Friday morning, 247Sports Illini writer, Jeremy Werner, put in a prediction in favor of the Orange and Blue landing Tavoris Miller. Werner’s confidence is a seven out of 10, so that is fairly high. This would be a nice get for the Illini.

Miller, a 6-foot, 160-pound athlete, hails from Miami, Florida and currently attends South Miami Senior High School. The south Florida native checks in as a three-star recruit who is the No. 87 athlete in the class of 2021 and the No. 132 player coming out of the state of Florida.

The offer list is quite impressive for Miller. Besides for the Illini, the talented athlete has schools like South Carolina, Miami (FL) and Indiana coming after his services. The fact Illinois has made such a positive impression on Miller says a lot about the recruiting ability of Illini cornerbacks coach, Keynodo Hudson.

Where does Miller fit in on the Illinois roster?

Well, I think the Illini are looking at Miller as more of a defensive back. Considering Coach Hudson coaches defensive backs and is on the recruitment, this seems like a logical move.

Miller isn’t pigeonholed into one position, though. He is an athlete in the truest form. With great speed, Miller can line up at cornerback, wide receiver, or safety. The kid can do it all. But what is most impressive is his hands. If there is a ball within reach, Miller is coming down with it.

Lovie Smith and his coaching staff look for players who are chameleons. They want recruits who can do more than one thing on the football field. Miller fits that mold and would be a great addition to the Illinois football program.
