The Illinois football team continues to tap into Florida as they offered Fort Meade defensive end, Deonte Anderson.

During these past four recruiting classes, Illinois has built a pipeline to the state of Florida. They look to keep adding talent from the Sunshine State as well. Early Saturday afternoon, Deonte Anderson announced on his Twitter page that he received an offer from the Fighting Illini.

Anderson is a 6-foot-3, 225-pound weak-side defensive end at Fort Meade High School in Fort Meade, Florida. He is rated as a three-star recruit and ranked as the No. 364 player in the class of 2021. He is also the No. 25 defensive end in the nation and the No. 57 player in Florida.

Anderson has offers from schools such as Arizona State, Michigan State, Boston College, and Cincinnati.

Based on the tape I’ve watched, Anderson is a talented player. He is quick with long arms, and he has an athletic background as he also plays basketball. Anderson also possesses good length.

Right now, Anderson hasn’t made any list, so it is unclear what are his top teams. But I think the Illini will make a push for the talented pass rusher. Illinois loves players like Anderson. When he goes to college, he will add on weight and be able to play defensive end or defensive tackle.

The Illinois football coaching staff has done a good job of creating a pipeline to Florida. Anderson would be a good addition. Right now, there is no telling what Anderson will do but, hopefully, Illinois will be chosen when he does make his commitment.
