It was fun watching the Illinois football team finally match up the competent coaching with competent on-field talent.

This combination led to the Orange and Blue making a bowl game. Going from four wins to six wins is a clear improvement with the program, and this has been a trend in the last few seasons. But don’t get things mixed up, there is still a lot of room for improvement moving forward.

On a positive note, the Illini made a bowl game and competed for a while against Cal in that contest. On a real note, the lack of depth within the football team really reared its ugly head at times. The starters are great and we have a few talented players sprinkled in behind them, but there are some massive holes still left on this team.

The Illinois coaching staff tries to fix those holes each offseason and has done a solid job in accomplishing this goal. I believe we will add at least one win to the win-total for 2020 if we get to play. A way we can add to the wins is if a few players rebound nicely from their 2019 campaign.

Injuries have plagued Illinois for what seems like forever now. Some players who were injured last year could really rebound and help the team in 2020. There are some players who played okay in 2019 but could rebound in 2020 and put up big numbers to help the Illini win as well. Multiple players fit into these categories, but I have narrowed the scope down to three.

Here are three players looking to rebound from last season.
