Brad Underwood and the Illinois basketball coaching staff look to add on to their future backcourt with their latest offer to a stud prospect who can do it all.

2021 prospect Tyty Washington announced Wednesday he received an offer from Illinois, via Twitter.  Washington is a 6-foot-3, 185-pound point guard who is currently attending Compass Prep High School in Chandler, Arizona.

The Arizona native is a 4-star recruit who is ranked by 247sports as the No. 74 overall prospect and the No. 13 ranked point guard in the nation.  He is also ranked the No. 5 best prospect in the state of Arizona.

Washington currently has 26 offers, and the 2021 guard recently named his top ten schools, which included Ole Miss, New Mexico, Arizona State, Creighton, San Diego State, USC, UC Santa Barbara, Washington State, Auburn and LSU. However, things could change as the Illini have a lot to offer in terms of talent.

How would Washington fit on the 2021 Fighting Illini roster?

By the time the 2021 season rolls around, the Illini will likely still have guards Adam Miller and Andre Curbelo on their roster unless either of them declares for the NBA draft.  Assuming that doesn’t happen, Washington would get the opportunity to join Miller, Curbelo, and fellow 2021 prospect guard Luke Goode to make up the future Illini backcourt.

Washington likely wouldn’t crack the starting lineup right away, but the 6-foot-3 guard would certainly make an instant impact for Illinois.

Watching his film, Washington has got everything you could want in a point guard.  He is an unselfish player who can dish out dimes to the open man.  He can also get the crowd roaring with an alley-oop assist.

Additionally, Washington is an exceptional scorer who can score from anywhere on the court.  He is a reliable three-point shooter who has deep range.  The 2021 guard can also finish in the paint with a flashy dunk or layup.

Washington is great on the defensive end, as well.  He possesses the ability to steal the ball and block shots.  Just when you think the opponent has an easy layup, Washington is there to make the hustle play with a block from behind.  He never gives up on plays — especially on defense.

The Compass Prep guard has shown he can dominate in any given game.  The four-star once scored 50 points in a game with a running clock.  With a commitment, Underwood would have another championship-potential backcourt in 2021.
