Illinois Football: Next 5 recruits the Illini need to land for 2021

The class of 2021 is starting to build into a solid group for the Illinois football coaching staff.

As of right now, the Illini have 16 players committed for 2021, which includes eight on the offensive side of the ball and eight on the defensive side of the ball. The balance in which positions this coaching staff is recruiting is impressive.

Illinois currently ranks No. 57 nationally with their class, but there will be more players added to the mix over time. That means that ranking should head more toward the top 50. The Illini also rank No. 12 in the Big Ten with an average recruiting rating of 0.8407.

I love the class Illinois is building right now. The top player commitment is Brody Wisecarver who is an offensive lineman ranked as the No. 385 best player in 2021. Wisecarver is going to be a staple in the Illinois offensive line for years to come.

The Illini have a ton of talented players in the class of 2021. But they aren’t finished with the class just yet. There are still players to add to get to the full class that I am looking for. I am eyeing a handful of players who could be added to the team in the coming months.
