No. 2 Guard

Starter: Adam Miller (Sophomore – 4* – #33 overall)

There are some players who come into the Illinois program and have a starting spot waiting for them. If you are a top 40 recruit in your respective class, then you should be starting for just about whatever team you pick. That is going to be the case with Adam Miller.

Miller will be in his sophomore year when the 2021-22 season starts. He should have a tremendous freshman year which will put him on the map nationally. The four-star guard who is ranked as the No. 33 player in the class of 2020 has the ability to drop a ton of points on opponents. I am excited to see what he can do in the first two years he is with the Illini. I believe, after his sophomore season, Miller will depart for the NBA. But, in 2021-22, he should be the starting No. 2 guard for the Illini.

Backup: Luke Goode (Freshman – 4* – #91 overall)

Illinois’ class of 2021 should be bringing in a nice haul of players. I believe every player who comes in from this class will be in the top 100 nationally. Even if some of the commits don’t start year one, they will still make a huge impact. I have incoming freshman Luke Goode as the primary backup to Miller at the No. 2 guard spot.

Goode is someone who is going to be a legend at Illinois. I would venture to say he ends up setting some scoring or shooting records along the way. I think he would be a perfect backup to Miller as a freshman. I want to see something like 5-10 minutes in year one. After his freshman season, look for Goode to take a more prominent role on the team. But, for now, he is what I want as the backup at the No. 2 spot.
