2. Brandon Weston (7 out of 10 confidence)

Throughout Illinois recruiting the class of 2021, I have always thought there was one player who was a lock to come to Champaign. That one player is Brandon Weston.

Weston is a 6-foot-5, 195-pound small forward from Morgan Park High School and resides in Chicago, Illinois. He is rated as a four-star recruit who is the No. 61 player in the class of 2021 and the No. 13 small forward in the nation. He is also the No. 3 player in the state of Illinois.

Illinois’ connection with Morgan Park and the AAU team Mac Irvin Fire has helped with recruiting. Weston plays for both teams, which means we should have a leg up on the field. But the recruitment of Weston isn’t over yet. I would like to see Illinois lock this one up sooner rather than later.

Weston is another player with solid size but is more of a wing than anything else. His game reminds me a lot of former Illinois wing Malcolm Hill. He has good handles and a smooth shot. Weston is someone who can take over games when he has to. He can also get up around the rim quite well.

I want to keep the Chicago pipeline lively. Adding Weston would be huge. He is a top 75 player and one of the best recruits in the state of Illinois. Let’s make this happen.
