1. David Jones (8 out of 10 confidence)

When a Crystal Ball is placed on a recruit, most fans take that seriously, as they should. That is what is happening with David Jones.

Just about a week ago, Derek Piper of 247Sports placed a Crystal Ball pick on Jones going to Illinois. This update got a lot of Illini fans excited about a potential commitment coming soon. If it happens, this would be a big pick-up for the Orange and Blue.

Jones is a 6-foot-6, 195-pound small forward from Teays Valley Christian School and resides in Scott Depot, West Virginia. He is rated as a four-star recruit who is the No. 85 player in the class of 2021 and the No. 20 small forward in the nation. He is also the No. 1 player coming out of West Virginia.

That Crystal Ball prediction is a pretty big deal. Jones would fit in seamlessly with the Illinois basketball roster.

Jones is what you call a wing player. He isn’t going to be on the block very often, but he can play around the rim if he needs to. This kid is versatile enough to play anywhere on the court. I think he excels the most when he has the ball in his hands around the three-point arc. This is where he can create whether that be via his shot, distributing, or making a play toward the hoop.

I would love this addition to the Illini. Jones is someone who could continue climbing the recruiting ranks.
