35. Ibrahima Djimde (Old: 3-star/0.8111 – New: 2-star/0.7759)

The class of 2011 had a rough time getting acclimated to the Illinois basketball program. Much of this probably had to do with a coaching change. The Illini were looking for some size in this class, though. They received that with Ibrahima Djimde.

Djimde was a 6-foot-9, 230-pound center coming out of Huntington Prep and residing in Huntington, West Virginia. He was rated as a three-star recruit who was the No. 436 player in the class of 2011 and the No. 99 power forward in the nation. He also had a composite rating of 0.8111.

Illinois used Djimde in some capacity early on in his career. In year one, he played in 17 games and averaged 0.3 points and 0.8 rebounds per contest. He then saw action in 11 games as a sophomore but only averaged 0.2 points and 0.3 rebounds per game.

After two seasons with the Orange and Blue, Djimde wanted to find a different home for his basketball career. He ended up transferring out of the Illinois program and didn’t go too far, as he would end up with Southern Illinois.

While with the Salukis, Djimde would average 2.1 points and 1.5 rebounds per game. He saw a little more action with Southern Illinois, but he couldn’t quite get his game off the ground.

Coming into the Illinois program, Djimde was a three-star with a rating of 0.8111. After looking at his college career, I would probably adjust that to a two-star with a rating of 0.7759.
