No. 3 Guard

Starter: Adam Miller

I have been excited about a few recruits during the Brad Underwood tenure at Illinois. When Underwood snagged Ayo Dosunmu, the program instantly saw a resurgence. Kofi Cockburn was next in line. And now, Underwood has been able to pull in former Ayo teammate, Adam Miller.

Coming out of Morgan Park, Miller was rated as one of the best recruits in the class of 2020. He was a four-star prospect who had ever team in the nation after him. But the talented guard wanted to stay home, so he picked the Illini. I believe Miller will be rewarded with the starting No. 3 spot in the Illinois lineup. This kid has all of the ability in the world, and he is an amazing shooter. Don’t be shocked if he is a Freshman All-American.

Backup: Austin Hutcherson

Illinois was able to pull in a duo of transfers before last season. I already talked about Jacob Grandison, but Austin Hutcherson also joined the Fighting Underwood’s.

Hutcherson was a lesser-known player in the transfer market. He was a sensational player at Wesleyan University, averaging 20 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. I love that Hutcherson is a utility player. Underwood will be able to use this kid at various positions. While I have him at the No. 3, don’t be shocked to see him at No. 1 through No. 4.
