3. Efrem Winters

Efrem Winters spent four seasons in an Illinois basketball uniform. During those four seasons, he played tremendous basketball. He accomplished a lot while in Champaign.

For his career, Winters averaged 11.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 0.8 blocks per game. He shot 49-percent from the field with an effective field goal rating 46-percent for his career. I also want to mention he had a true shooting percentage of 52-percent.

Winters’ best season came during his sophomore year. During that campaign, he averaged 14.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game. He shot 51-percent from the field with a true shooting percentage of 55-percent.

The individual and team accomplishments during Winters’ time in Champaign were plentiful. He was named to the All-Big Ten first-team once and named to the All-Big Ten third-team once. He also has four NCAA tournament appearances, and the furthest he ever went was to the Sweet 16 twice.

Winters is top10 in a lot of statistical categories in Illini history. He ranks No. 10 in all-time points scored for an Illini player. Winters was great at blocking shots as he ranks No. 8 in all-time total blocks in Illini history. He is also No. 6 in total field goals made for an Illini player.

Winters was a player who had a lot of individual success, which is why I ranked him the No. 3 power forward in Illinois history.
