Kendall Brown is one of the best players in the nation, and the Illinois basketball coaching staff has done a good job at recruiting him.

This Illini coaching staff knew that they needed to prioritize wing depth for the future. They did just that, as Kendall Brown has kept Illinois in his top 10 list. Staying in Brown’s top 10 is huge. A player like him could be a great contributor to a team from day one.

Brown is a 6-foot-8, 205-pound small forward for Sunrise Christian Acadamey in Witchita, Kansas. He is rated as a five-star recruit who is the No. 15 recruit in the class of 2021. He is also ranked as the No. 5 small forward and No. 1 player in the state of Kansas.

On May 16th Brown, decided to cut his recruiting list down to 10 teams. The teams vying for his commitment include Ohio State, Arkansas, Kansas, Baylor, Marquette, Arizona, Virginia, Minnesota, Maryland, and Illinois.

Based on the tape, Brown is a high-flying player who can create his own shot and shoot the ball well. But I think it will be extremely difficult for Illinois to land in Brown’s next cut. If they do, I don’t think he would commit to Illinois, though.

I don’t think Illinois is a top destination for him. The reason he likely won’t land with the Illini is that teams such as Arizona and Kansas are recruiting him. But this Illini coaching staff has done some amazing things with recruiting over the last few years. So, you never know what is going to happen.

It is a big deal that Illinois landed in Brown’s top 10 list. I don’t know if we will be able to land him, though. We will just have to wait and see what happens.
