The Illinois basketball program has had a lot of talented point guards, and I’m here to tell you who I think are the top three to put on an Illini uniform.

I think this list will be controversial because some of the players I left off this list are fan favorites. The title says top three, but there will be an honorable mention spot for one player.

My top three Illini point guards will be based on numbers, both individual and team accomplishments, and team success. When I say team success, I mean things like wins and NCAA tournament appearances.

Deep runs in the big dance will be a factor when putting this list together. Individual accomplishments and numbers will be the most important things when ranking theses point guards. When it comes to numbers, I will list where the players rank on the all-time list for certain stats.

Now, this list was hard to make mainly because Illinois has had a lot of good and talented point guards. Deron Williams, Dee Brown, Frank Williams, Kiwane Garris, Demetri McCamey and Ayo Dosunmu all have put on Illini uniforms, but sadly, I’m only ranking the top three.

Just before we get to this list, I do want to say that this is my opinion and I know some will disagree with who is on this list. But I don’t want to take up any more of your time so, without further ado, let’s get into this list.
