The Illinois basketball team continues to inch closer to landing a great transfer or two this offseason.

Adding players who already have experience bodes well for Brad Underwood and his coaching staff. The previous coaching regime at Illinois couldn’t figure out how to win with transfers, but Underwood continues to impress with who he can land and how we can win with transfer players.

It hasn’t been the easiest road to landing a transfer this offseason, though. Illinois has pursued a lot of different players who could have helped this team. But all of the players have decided to commitment elsewhere. Despite this dry spell for the Illini, there are a couple of big-time transfers still left on the board.

One of the biggest targets out there is Jose Perez. He is a 6-foot-5, 200-pound guard from Gardner-Webb. He wants to find a new home and had a ton of programs vying for his commitment. But he is now down to just Memphis, Georgia Tech, Marquette, Iowa State and Illinois. That is a tough list, but I think Illinois has a legit shot at landing this big-time guard.

Where would Perez fit in with the Illinois roster, though? What would the Illini lineup look like with such a big addition?

Here is the projected Illini lineup if Jose Perez was added.
