Illinois Basketball: Player to watch next season – Adam Miller
By Zain Bando
Get to know four-star recruit, Adam Miller, ahead of his inaugural season with the Illinois basketball program.
The Fighting Illini men’s basketball team locked up a priority recruit this week, snagging the four-star, 6-foot-3, shooting guard from Morgan Park, Adam Miller. Miller is an electrifying presence and adds an instant boost to a program who, under Brad Underwood’s guidance, puts themselves in a position to make a deep NCAA tournament run in the near future.
Miller has major shoes to fill, as he is Illinois’ No. 1 recruit in the class of 2020. In his senior season, the man they call “AceWolf” averaged 26.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists, adding a dynamic skill set to a dominant Mustang’s program. He can dunk, pass and shoot with laser accuracy. The thought of him committing somewhere else never crossed his mind, as he made that extremely clear during his Instagram live session Wednesday.
Miller is 110-percent “locked in,” which is a great sign, as many fans were extremely nervous that his delay in signing his National Letter of Intent would hinder his overall decision. Thankfully, it did not.
Miller will have many eyes on him entering his freshman season. He will try to fill the shoes of ex-high school teammate, Ayo Dosunmu. Ayo declared for the NBA Draft just about a week ago but has yet to sign an agent.
Illini fans will have much to look forward to in the fall, with a new expectation of contending in the Big Ten standings top-five. Underwood is excited about the addition, which should bring in more recruits in the near future because of Miller’s stature.
