1. Miami Dolphins

There were a lot of bad rushing teams in the NFL in 2019, but the organization to take the cake when it comes to bad ground attacks is the Miami Dolphins.

The Dolphins ranked dead last out of 32 NFL teams in rushing. They averaged 72.3 yards per game on the ground, which is a solid 6.3 yards less than the No. 31 team in the New York Jets. With Miami being so bad on the ground, I think this would be a perfect chance for Dre Brown to come in and see some playing time.

Jordan Howard is projected as the leading running back in the backfield for the Dolphins this upcoming season. After a short stint with the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles, Howard signed a 2-year, 10-million dollar agreement this offseason. Behind Howard, the projected depth chart consists of Patrick Laird, Kalen Ballage and Myles Gaskin.

Laird averaged 2.7 yards per carry in 2019 as a rookie. To top Laird’s terrible numbers, Ballage only averaged 1.8 YPC in 74 attempts. The most effective running back on the roster this season from last year is Gaskin, who averaged 3.7 YPC. All three running backs weren’t effective as a receiver out of the backfield either.

I think the Dolphins should take a flyer on Brown. He was a solid runner out of the backfield and proved last season he could catch the ball with 10 receptions for 82 yards. I think he would fit seamlessly with Howard as the No. 2 in Miami.
