6. Charles Minlend

Another new name on the list of transfers is Charles Minlend. He is a classic transfer player who played for a lower-level program and wants to take his talents and put them on display.

There wasn’t much recruiting attention for Minlend coming out of Fork Union Military Academy. He would end up picking San Francisco as his landing spot to play college basketball, though.

With the Dons, Minlend performed well. As a freshman, he averaged 10 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. He then bumped those numbers up in year two. He averaged 14.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game as a sophomore.

Last season was another strong showing for Minlend. He finished his career off with the Dons averaging 14.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Now he is looking for a new home. Where could that be, though?

Minlend has heard from numerous programs across the country. I would say he is one of the most wanted players in the nation right now. Illinois is one of the teams who is going after him too.

I would love to bring Minlend into the program. He is a good, big, guard who could play the 2-4 positions depending on what Brad Underwood wants with his lineup. I love his scoring ability too. This is what sets him apart.
