This offseason has been crazy with the Illinois basketball team being in the mix for a wide range of transfers.

I think it is evident that the Illini need to add a player or two this offseason to continue building for the future. We have a great recruiting class coming in, but there should be one or two available scholarships for players who can help up this upcoming campaign.

Illinois has already lost a couple of players to the transfer portal this offseason. Alan Griffin was by far the biggest loss. He departed the program and committed to Syracuse just a couple of days ago. The other transfer was Tevian Jones. He has recruiting interest from a lot of lower-level programs and a smattering of solid DI teams.

But the Illini will be fine without these two players. Like previously mentioned, the class of 2020 is solid and should be a boost to this team for the next couple of years. I would like to add a couple of transfers, though. There are some big names on the market who could help this team get back to the promise land.

Here is a list of the top transfers the Illini pursuing 2.0.
