The Illinois basketball coaching staff was able to land Adam Miller in the class of 2020.

Miller is a 6-foot-3 170-pound shooting guard from Morgan Park High School in Chicago, Illinois. He is a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 33 player in the class of 2020 and the No. 2 ranked player in Illinois. The Illini were able to land Miller over programs such as Arizona and Louisville. He will bring a unique skill set to this Illinois basketball team for the 2020-21 season.

The first thing that stands out to me about Miller’s game is his ability to score. During his senior year, he averaged 27 points and has scored 2,422 points in his high school career. Miller is a three-level scorer. He can score at the basket, from mid-range and three-point range.

The second thing that stands out to me about Miller’s game is that he is versatile. He is a shooting guard that can play either the point guard or small forward position, despite not having the ideal size to play the position. Illinois has gotten away with plugging smaller players such as Da’Monte Williams and Andres Feliz at the No. 3 position at times this past season.

Some other things Miller will bring to Illinois are his rebounding, passing ability and athleticism. Miller averages 6 rebounds and 5 assists, and I feel like these are two underrated aspects of his game. He is also a player who can jump out of the gym as he can go up and catch an alley-oop or dunk on opposing players.

The Illinois basketball program is getting an elite talent in Miller. His ability to score in a variety of ways and play multiple positions will be a pleasure to watch next year.
