The Illinois basketball team is going to need to rebuild their roster when the class of 2021 rolls around.

This past season was amazing. Illinois added a few key pieces and would have made a run in the NCAA tournament if they were able to play the postseason. But, sadly, we couldn’t see this great team compete with the best competition in the nation.

There will be a couple of players depart from the current team. I wouldn’t be shocked to see a transfer or two. And it wouldn’t shock me to see a player leave for the NBA. Illinois is bringing in some talent from the class of 2020 to replenish the players who are leaving, though.

Even with the players who will be coming in, the Illini are still going to lose some talent after next season as well. I will miss players like Da’Monte Williams and Trent Frazier, among others. That means Illinois is going to have to have a big-time class in 2021. That is what this article is about. It is never too early to think about the talent out there for the Illini to snag. This class needs to be big.

Here are the top 5 targets for the Illini in the class of 2021.
