Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 1. player. RB. Edwardsville HS - Edwardsville, IL. Justin Johnson. 807

There are still some big running back names out there for the Illinois football team to snag. One of the names that fans should continue to keep in mind is Justin Johnson.

Johnson is a 5-foot-11, 190-pound running back from Edwardsville High School and resides in Edwardsville, Illinois. He is rated as a three-star recruit who is the No. 361 player in the class of 2021 and the No. 26 running back in the nation. He is also the No. 8 player in the state of Illinois.

The scholarship offers have really piled up for Johnson over the past year and will continue to come in as time goes on. The biggest offers he has right now include Illinois, Minnesota and Louisville. But, over the past few months, he has mentioned a few teams that are up at the top of his list.

Back in January, after a visit to West Virginia, Johnson mentioned that the Mountaineers were up there in the top three for his commitment. The other two teams he mentioned in the mix for his commitment were Purdue and Illinois. That means we are right there in the running for this kid.

Johnson reminds me a lot of former Illinois running back, Reggie Corbin. He is a smart runner who waits for a hole to open. Once that hole opens, he hits it with a great burst. I would love to get this kid on the team.
