2. Score in transition and penetrate the defense

The Illinois basketball team has been good this season when it comes to scoring in transition and getting the ball inside the paint. Ayo Dosunmu, Andres Feliz and Trent Frazier are players who are good at both of these things. These two things will be key in this matchup

Scoring in transition is something Illinois is good at. Usually, the reason they are so good at pushing the ball in transition is because of the defense. Ayo is really good in transition because he is so shifty and can make the right pass when needed. Feliz is good in transition because he can finish through contact. Frazier is good at torquing his body in the air to finish some contested layups. Scoring in transition would equal quick and easy baskets.

Getting the ball inside the paint and penetrating the Buckeyes defense will be important too. If the Fighting Illini are able to penetrate the Buckeyes defense, that would open up shots for Alan Griffin and Frazier. Illinois as two players who are able to get the ball inside the paint. Those players are Ayo and Feliz.

Penetrating Ohio State’s defense with the drive and pass is important. Illinois needs to be able to score in transition and score in the paint if we want to win the game.
