Chicago, Illinois basketball produces some of the most talented athletes in the nation almost every year.

Let’s get this straight from the tip, this list is about the top five kids who have made it at the college level coming out of Chicago.

The Windy City is always a proving ground for some of the greatest recruits of all-time. Players like Ben Wilson, Nick Anderson, Derek Rose and Anthony Davis have all emerged from the city of Chicago. That is only to name a few of the great ones who could transition to the next level.

But there have also been great high school players who come out of Chicago who can’t transition at the next level for one reason or another. No matter if these players have spurred my beloved Illini, I still want to see them succeed. A couple of players in recent years that come to mind include Cliff Alexander and Charles Matthews. Both great players in high school but neither found a lot of footing in college.

There have been some great ones who have found footing, though. All but one of these players have gone on to the NBA, so far, too.

Here is a list of the top 5 Chicago, Illinois basketball recruits from the 2010s.
