The Illinois basketball team pulled out a tough road win against the Wisconsin Badgers on Wednesday night.

Illinois had a lot of players perform well for them throughout the game, but there was one player who stood out as the Most Valuable Player.

The Illini finally snapped a 15-game losing streak to the Badgers. Illinois players consistently made huge plays down the stretch en route to the victory. Multiple players played a huge role near the end of the game whether it was on offense or defense, but there was one player who was consistent during the entire game.

That player is Ayo Dosunmu. He was the best player on the court for the Illini

Dosunmu finished the night with18 points, 6 assist and 5 rebounds while shooting 46-percent from the field and 66-percent from three-point range. He really did a great job on offense as he did great at penetrating the Badgers defense in half-court and did a good job in transition with a couple of fastbreak points.

There were multiple players who could have received this award, though.

Alan Griffin and Kofi Cockburn were the other two candidates I had in mind. Griffin had 12 points and hit two big three-pointers down the stretch, and Kofi had 15 points and 6 rebounds. I chose Ayo for the MVP because he was the most consistent throughout the game and stayed out of foul trouble, which hurt both Griffin and Kofi.

dark. Next. 3 observations from the Illini win over Wisconsin

This win is huge for the whole team. Not only did it snap the long losing streak against Wisconsin, but we are now looking to extend our winning streak to three games as Illinois faces off against Rutgers on Saturday.
