Defensive Line

Starter DE: Wole Betiku

For the most part, Illinois has had the same starting depth chart this season. There hasn’t been a lot of change and the same can be said for the defensive line. Wole Betiku should still see the starting role at defensive end for this team. He has 16 tackles and 6 sacks so far this season.

Starter DT: Jamal Woods

Jamal Woods missed the game against Eastern Michigan with an injury. He should be able to make the start against Nebraska, though. Having solid depth in the middle of the defensive line is important. Woods will be a welcomed sight.

Starter DT: Jamal Milan

I would think Jamal Milan would make another start for the Illini this week. He has started every game so far this season. The ability to stop the running game has improved this year for the Illini. I would attribute most of that success to the experience of the defensive tackles.

Stater DE: Ayo Shogbonyo

Ayo Shogbonyo has started every game for Illinois at defensive end this season, and I don’t see why they would switch it up now. He has been a solid player for this program so far. I expect to see more production out of him, though.

Backup: Tymir Oliver, Calvin Avery, Deon Pate, Kenyon Jackson, Owen Carney Jr., Marc Mondesir
