Recruiting Take

I can’t confirm that a September 16 visit to Iowa State is an official one for KK Robinson, but he will be visiting Iowa State in some capacity then. It will be interesting to see how the chips fall after that.

Robinson did cut his list down to just seven teams and kept Arkansas, Texas A&M, Kansas, TCU, Vanderbilt, Iowa State and Illinois alive. It seems like a few teams are continuing to push to show him they are the best option.

Adam Zagoria of Zagsblog posted on Twitter that Kansas, Arkansas and Illinois are all at Oak Hill Academy today to visit with Robinson. I would assume these three programs think they can land this kid and that is why they are putting the resources into him. So, look for official visits to be set up with these three teams soon.

Fit

The point guard position is going to be a weakness after this season. Ayo Dosunmu and Andres Feliz will both depart the team after the current campaign. That leaves little options for the Illini at the No. 1 guard spot.

Robinson could come in and start day one for the Illini. This has to be intriguing. I would imagine all of the other teams on his list can’t offer him that. I would bet Illinois ends up being one of the top teams for Robinson when it is all said and done. Don’t be surprised if we land this kid.
