Recruiting Take

It will be interesting to see who ends up landing this young star from Canada. He has cut his list down to 10 programs which include Arkansas, California, Arizona State, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Saint Louis, Dayton, Florida, VCU and Illinois.

There is one official visit off the board. Ambrose-Hylton visited Dayton on September 6. That leaves four official visits remaining.

It is honestly hard to say where the other four official visits will land. This has been a fairly quiet recruitment. Illinois seems to be good at landing kids who aren’t originally from the United States, though. So, I wouldn’t be shocked if we get one of those visits.

Fit

Ambrose-Hylton would fit in well with the Illinois roster. Giorgi Bezhanishivili might not stay all four years because of how well he played in year one. That means Illinois is going to need a solid No. 4 to play early on in their career. We could slot Ambrose-Hylton into that role either his freshman or sophomore season. That could provide him early playing time.
