The Illinois basketball team topped off a great weekend with a big addition to the family.

On Saturday night, Austin Hutcherson announced on Twitter that he had committed to the University of Illinois. This commitment came at the end of his official visit with the Illini. He arrived on campus on Thursday and then made the commitment a couple of days later. I have to give all the credit in the world to the Illini coaches for landing this kid during his visit.

Illinois wasn’t the only program Hutcherson was interested in, though. According to Derek Piper of 247Sports, Hutcherson picked the Illini over both Creighton and Notre Dame. He also canceled official visit plans with Marquette before he took this trip to Illinois.

What is Illinois getting with Hutcherson, though? What makes him standout as a player?

Let me tell you, this kid can hit three-point shots. He has a great frame and is bigger than most guards. This is going to be a huge advantage for him when he rises up from deep. His body and game remind me a lot of Kyle Korver. I am not saying he is Korver, just his style is similar.

I think this was an underrated pickup for the Illini. Hutcherson is going to do wonders for this program. He has all the tools needed to be a special player. But what does the roster look like with him right now?

Here is the projected Illini lineup with Austin Hutcherson.
