The Illinois football team has started training camp, so it is time to project what the depth chart will look like.

Here is the projected offensive depth chart for the Illini.

Quarterback

Starter: Brandon Peters

I think the starter for the Illini the next two seasons is probably going to be Brandon Peters. There is a reason he picked Illinois. I would assume there are some promises made here of the starting job. This also enables Isaiah Williams to get up to speed in the passing game.

Backup: Isaiah Williams

I have been on the fence with redshirting Isaiah Williams. I have thought it might be good, but then again him coming in as a wildcat type quarterback for the first few years of his career might not be a bad idea. He could be a dangerous player as a backup and then be unleashed as a starter in year three. There is always the option of redshirting him after the fourth game, too.

3rd String: Coran Taylor

I like Coran Taylor. He is a local kid who has talent. Illinois has some quality depth at quarterback. Taylor would be a great option if something bad ever happened to the first two on the depth chart. I am glad he is on the team as an insurance policy.

4th String: Matt Robinson

Matt Robinson is a good story but I have him as the fourth-string quarterback. He has a good arm but this team just has too much talent at quarterback to have him start or even be a backup.
