4. Posh Alexander

Of all the recruits on this list, Illinois seems to be the closest to landing Posh Alexander. He is a talented guard who could be a game-changer for the Orange and Blue.

Alexander is a 6-foot-1, 180-pound combo guard from Our Saviour Lutheran School in Bronx, New York. He is rated as a four-star recruit who is the No. 99 player in the class of 2020 and the No. 11 combo guard in the nation. He is also the No. 5 player in the state of New York.

On July 22, Alexander decided to cut his list down to just five teams. He kept St. John’s, Seton Hall, Dayton, Pittsburgh and Illinois all alive for his commitment. As of right now, Seton Hall is 247Sports’ pick to land this talented guard. But I think all of the top five still have a solid chance.

Alexander suited up for the New York Lightning of the Nike EYBL AAU league this summer. In the 20 games that he played in for the Lightning, he ended up averaging 12.6 points, 4.5 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game. Those are really good numbers that I would love to have on the Illini.

I want fighters on this Illinois team and that is what Alexander brings to the table. He plays the game like he has a chip on his shoulder. He is a bulldog with the ball. This kid has the confidence of an NBA legend and the ability to take hits in the lane but still finish. I love his game.
