Right guard

Starter: Kievan Myers (SO)

It is hard to tell who the starting right guard is going to be in 2020. I am not completely sure who is starting at this position in 2019. But I think Kievan Myers might take the reins at this position.

Myers was a great get for Lovie Smith and his coaching staff from the class of 2018. He was a three-star recruit who was ranked as the No. 1042 player in the country. He came into the program last year and redshirted. This helped prepare Myers for the college game. I am excited to see what he can do this season.

Backup: Jake Cerny (SR)

Jake Cerny is a backup who hasn’t played a lot during his career. He should still be a backup in 2020 as a senior but is a big contributor on special teams. He will help provide depth at this position.

Backup: Josh Plohr (FR)

I have Josh Plohr as a backup for the Illini in 2020. He should be coming off a redshirt season that enabled him to get more prepared. Plohr has nice size and should be a great addition to the team this upcoming season.

Backup: Thomas Cronin (FR)

Thomas Cronin was a preferred walk-on for the Illini this season. He should come in and be a nice depth piece. I expect him to redshirt in 2019 and then come back as a redshirt freshman in 2020.
