The Illinois basketball coaching staff has some work to do to fill out the class of 2020.

As of right now, it looks like we have four open scholarships for next season and likely a fifth with the departure of Ayo Dosunmu to the NBA. With that being said, what in the world are we going to do about the roster?

Well, I am hoping to land a few big fish who are highly ranked among recruiting sites. Adam Miller is one of these recruits. He is a talented guard who can really put up numbers. Alongside Miller will, hopefully, be DJ Steward. He is another talented guard who can do everything on the basketball court.

The big names like Miller and Steward would be amazing to land, but there are also names out there that aren’t as highly ranked for one reason or another. These recruits are getting overlooked but could help the Illini win games. I believe these recruits are underrated too.

Recruiting sites aren’t always right, just take a look at where Russell Westbrook, Damian Lillard and Stephen Curry were ranked. If the rankings were correct on those guys, they wouldn’t be where they are today. There are a few recruits out there who aren’t ranked in the top 100 who could be great snags for the Orange and Blue.

Here are 4 underrated recruits who could help the Illini.
