The Illinois basketball team just took another step forward in potentially landing superstar guard, Adam Miller.

On Monday afternoon, Miller took to Twitter to announce his top 10 list. This list included the likes of Northwestern, Arizona, Kansas, Missouri, Lousiville, North Carolina State, Wake Forest, Arizona State, Chicago State and Illinois. This is a big-time list full of teams who have been hounding Miller for quite some time now. Illinois was expected to be on this list, but it will be a difficult task landing the kid.

Miller is a 6-foot-4, 170-pound shooting guard from Morgan Park High School in Chicago, Illinois. He is rated as a four-star recruit who is the No. 29 player in the class of 2020 and the No. 5 shooting guard in the nation. He is also the No. 2 player in the state of Illinois as well.

Miller and his Mac Irvin Fire AAU team are coming off an early exit in the EYBL Peach Jam. It wasn’t the best showing for both Miller and the MIF but we all know the talent each holds. The ranking for Miller isn’t a lie. This kid is one of the best in the nation.

Personally, I think the biggest threat to Illinois in the race for Miller is Kansas. They seem to recruit the Chicago area well led by former Illini player, Jerrance Howard. Let’s also not forget how well Bill Self, current Kansas and former Illinois head coach, has recruited the Chicago area too. These two are a dynamic recruiting duo who could pose problems for the Orange and Blue.

Besides for the Jayhawks, I think the next biggest problem for the Illini is going to be Louisville. Miller took his first official visit to see what the Cardinals have to offer. They are always a sneaky team who can pluck talent out of the Midwest.

Next. 5 observations from the Peach Jam. dark

Overall, I think Illinois probably has the lead here. We can’t let off the gas, though. This top 10 list is impressive. He is a wanted recruit. Hopefully, we can land Miller and continue building.
