2. Brandon Weston

Illinois may have a few solid wing players still around when it comes time for the class of 2021 to join the program. But we are still going to need to build depth and have someone ready to step into the starting role when those experienced players graduate. Brandon Weston would be a perfect wing option for the Orange and Blue.

Weston is a 6-foot-4, 195-pound small forward from Morgan Park High School in Chicago, Illinois. He is rated as a three-star recruit who is the No. 105 player in the class of 2021 and the No. 22 small forward in the nation. He is also the No. 4 player in the state of Illinois as well.

The standing for Weston went unchanged in the updated 247Sports class of 2021 rankings. He is right there on the cusp of getting into the top 100. He still has a few seasons in high school, so I bet he sees the top 100 before it is all said and done.

Weston’s recruitment is really starting to pick up as well. Some of the more recent offers the kid has received include UAB, Arizona State and Saint Louis. It would not shock me if he continues to pick up big-time offers from programs all over the country.

Illinois seems to be in a good position with Weston. He is originally from Brooklyn, New York, and the Illini have been recruiting the east coast well. He is now with Morgan Park High School in Chicago and plays for the Mac Irvin Fire AAU team. Illinois has strong connections to both of those programs too.

Weston is a player that I think is most likely to end up playing for Brad Underwood in 2021. He would be a great addition to the team.
