4. Marcellus Moore

Recruits who can do it all are what offensive coordinator Rod Smith wants in his offense. He has always been a guy who thrived off talented players who can play multiple roles. Marcellus Moore is that type of player.

Moore is a 5-foot-6.5, 149-pound all-purpose running back from Plainfield North High School in Plainfield, Illinois. He is rated as a three-star recruit who is the No. 779 player in the class of 2020 and the No. 10 all-purpose running back in the nation. He is also the No. 12 player in the state of Illinois as well.

The decision for Moore seems to be coming closer to the end. He cut his list down to seven programs back on May 20. The seven teams included Michigan, Nebraska, Purdue, Kentucky, Missouri, Ole Miss and Illinois.

Since Moore cut his list, he has been on an unofficial visit to Illinois which was June 9. He then took his first official visit to Purdue on June 14. There hasn’t been any recruiting activity for him since.

I think Illinois has a shot here to land Moore relatively soon. There are only four more official visits left and I think we will get one in the next few months. I would look for his decision to come sometime around the start of the football season, but that is just a guess.
