The Illinois basketball team is fishing for some talented recruits and they have a lot of lines in the water.

Having a lot of lines in the water isn’t a bad thing. That gives the program more flexibility if a recruit decides to go to another team. The Illini won’t be left out to dry. They will have other options on the table. This is also a delicate dance because what if a player you want more decides to drag his feet and then your scholarships get filled? It is a difficult field to navigate.

Illinois hasn’t had that worry for the class of 2020, though. They currently don’t have anyone signed up for this important class. If we fill the final scholarship for the class of 2019, that would leave two scholarships left on the surface for the class of 2020.

Most likely, there will be more than two scholarships available when 2020 rolls around. We will have the two offers and then at least one person will leave the program to go to the NBA. That will then leave three offers to hand out to talented players.

But what players are out there? The bigger question is; what players are most likely to come to Champaign? There are so many lines out there, so which recruits are likely to bite?

Here are the top 5 players most likely to commit to the Illini for 2020.
